What are the Activities for Learning

Disabilities?

There are many activities people with learning disabilities enjoy. These activities may include watching sports, listening to music and dancing, looking at photos, arts and crafts and more. We created the Happiness Programme with these in mind.

New game alert!

We’re delighted to release an interactive version of the classic board game, Snakes and Ladders, on the magic table 360.

We’ve made some simple but important changes to the design, including:

  • A simple hand or prop gesture starts a large single die rolling.
  • We’ve reduced the number of snakes and ladders that players can climb or drop down. This is so the tile numbers are more legible.
  • We’ve reduced the play time by making the final number tile 50 (instead of the traditional 100).
  • There are 3 versions of this game (versions for 2, 3 and 4 players) to accommodate different group sizes.

This is game number 22 in the growing collection of interactive light based games now available as part of the Happiness Programme.

Snakes and Ladders goes festive

Alongside the standard version of the game, we’ve also released a Christmas-themed version this December (and available until late January 2021).

The snakes and ladders are replaced by Christmas trees and candy canes, bringing a little extra Christmas cheer to the thousands of people playing on the magic table 360 this Christmas.

How to play the new games

Snakes and Ladders is available to all our subscribers, along with the rest of our Christmas games.

You’ll need to download the latest update to your magic table 360. Find out how in our “3 simple steps” blog post here.

The Happiness Programme is a first-of-its-kind initiative helping to change the lives of people living with cognitive challenges. We use interactive light technology to provide meaningful activities for residents and patients in care homes and care settings.  For more detail on what the Happiness Programme is and how it’s helping care venues across the UK, visit our getting started page.

Alternatively, jump to our dementialearning disability and NHS pages for more specific detail on how it’s helping care homes like Barchester and HC-One as well as hospitals and local authorities such as St George’s Hospital, London and Westminster and South Kensington Council.
